Morena Baccarin was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 2nd June 1979. Morena moved to New York when she was 7 years old, raised by an actress and a journalist in an Italian household. Her father worked for Globo TV in Greenwich Village, where she grew up. She attended the prestigious Juilliard School after graduating from high school and completed her acting programme in 2020.

Morena began her acting career in films like Perfume and Way Off Broadway, where she played a variety of characters. She also got interested in theatre, working as Natalie Portman’s understudy for a performance of The Seagull while they were rehearsing.
