Maurice Sendak Net Worth: Maurice Sendak was an American illustrator and author of children’s books who had a net worth of $20 million. Maurice Sendak was born in Brooklyn, New York in June 1928 and passed away in May 2012. Sendak became popular for his book Where the Wild Things Are which was published in 1963.

Sendak was born to Jewish-Polish parents and lost many of his family members during the Holocaust. He authored many titles such as Kenny’s Window, In the Night Kitchen, Seven Little Monsters, and Outside Over There. He also illustrated many children’s books including A Very Special House, Hurry Home, Candy, The Wheel on the School, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle’s Farm, the Little Bear series, The Singing Hill, McCall’s, The Animal Family, The Golden Key, The Juniper Tree, King Grisly-Beard, Nutcracker, Circus Girl, and The Cunning Little Vixen. Sendak worked on the 1973 film Where the Wild Things Are and did artwork for the 1985 movie Return to Oz. He produced The Little Bear Movie in 2001 and wrote the remake of Where The Wild Things Are in 2009. Maurice Sendak passed away on May 8, 2012 at 83 years old.
