Juwan Howard is a former professional basketball player hailing from the United States who is currently the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team. Juwan Howard was born on 7 February 1973, to Leroy Watson and Helena Watson. He was a basketball player in high school at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Prior to his studies, he was an avid basketball player. He had a difficult time in school, but he went on to earn the 1991 All-American Basketballer of the Year award. He was awarded the McDonald’s All-Amеriсаn hоnоr. During this period, the high school changed its name and he was inducted into the National Honor Society.

He committed to play for the University of Michigan after high school. He was a member of Michigan’s Fab Five. The other four members of the Fab Five were Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson. He declared his desire to enter the NBA draught in 1994 after his sophomore season at Michigan.

Howard was released two weeks before training camp began because the NBA players and owners had not yet reached an agreement on the terms of a new collective bargaining agreement for the 1994-95 season. Despite rumors that his draught rights would be traded to another team, he continued to exercise in Chicago in late September.

During his strike, he was rumored to be part of a deal with the Chicago Bulls that featured Calbert Cheaney and a first-round draught selection in return for Scottie Pippen. According to another version, Howard was traded for Pippen in exchange for Rex Chapman and Don MacLean. The eleventh overall pick in the 1994 NBA draught, Carlos Rogers, signed an NBA contract on November 9, leaving Howard as the last first-round pick without a contract.
